Palio di Siena 2025

The Palio di Siena is a horse race that is held twice each year, on 2 July and 16 August, in Siena, Italy.
Ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appropriate colours represent the various Sienese "contrade", or areas in which the city is divided,
challenge each other in a passionate horse race in the heart of the city in the Piazza del Campo.

A Palio ticket is required to access Siena's balconies, grandstands, windows.

TERRAZZO AL CASATO TICKETS;-

The Terrace is located at the Curva del Casato, an excellent position as it is in the shade from the morning. It is accessed from a private apartment located in the building Mattasala Lambertini, entrance from Chiasso del Bargello.

Included in your ticket - Entry and hospitality:

Inside the terrace there is a buffet (maximum of 70 people present) with wine, beer, water, various drinks and pizza, sandwiches, savoury and sweet pastries and the typical cantuccini.

Also Included: bathroom, hostess in assistance, Free Wi-fi, use of the common areas of the apartment, large internal living room with chairs and sofas. Access is from 5.00pm and depart at the end of the race.

Synopsis

The Palio di Siena known locally simply as Il Palio is a horse race that is held twice each year, on 2 July and 16 August, in Siena, Italy.
Ten horses and riders, bareback and dressed in the appropriate colours, represent ten of the seventeen contrade, or city wards
challenge each other in a passionate horse race in the heart of the city in the Piazza del Campo.

The Palio held on 2 July is named Palio di Provenzano, in honour of the Madonna of Provenzano, a Marian devotion particular to Siena which developed around an icon from the Terzo Camollia.
The Palio held on 16 August is named Palio dell'Assunta, in honour of the Assumption of Mary.
