Brentford were founded in 1889 by members of the local rowing club, who met at a hotel by Kew Bridge and decided the winter needed filling. They played at Griffin Park from 1904, a ground best remembered for having a pub on each of its four corners, and moved the short distance to the current stadium in 2020.
