The Grand National is a premier annual British handicap horse race held at Aintree Racecourse near Liverpool, first run in 1839.

As Europe’s most valuable jump race (approx. £1 million prize), it features 34 horses tackling 30 demanding, iconic fences over 4 miles furlongs. It is widely considered the world’s most famous, challenging, and dramatic steeplechase.

The Red Rum Garden is at the heart of the action as fashion ambassadors select the winner of the Style Award. In addition to the fashion, the top notch racing continues, with the Marsh Melling Chase and Randox Topham Chase among the most popular races.

Aintree Enclosure Guide;
  • Festival Zone (Formerly Tattersalls/Embankment) Best for: Atmosphere, value, and first-time visitors, Features: Access to the Red Rum Garden, Tattersalls viewing steps, and the O Beach and Aintree Pavilion for live entertainment. Vibe: Very lively and social. No strict dress code.
  • The Grandstand Enclosure: Best for: Prime viewing of the home straight and winning post. Features: Covered seating (unreserved) and access to various bars and betting outlets.
  • Earl of Derby and Lord Sefton Terraces: Best for: Outdoor viewing close to the action. Features: Situated directly next to the horsewalk and trackside, these offer great views of the racing, including the Grand National itself. Perks: Access to private bars in the grandstand.
  • Princess Royal Stand: Best for: Premium, covered seating with excellent views. Features: Overlooks the parade ring and winning post, providing a prime spot for the finish. Perks: Access to the Red Rum Garden, Parade Ring, and Winners’ Enclosure.
